An Unscripted Family Session with Jayde Cauldwell – Family in Motion

Some families welcome you into their world so effortlessly, and that’s exactly how it felt when I photographed the Cauldwell family.

As a Gold Coast and Northern Rivers family photographer, I’ve had the privilege of capturing so many incredible stories, but this one was something special. Jayde Cauldwell is not only a devoted mother of three, but she’s also well known for her down-to-earth humor and honesty about motherhood on her Instagram and as co-host of Beyond The Bump Podcast. When it was confirmed I was going to document her family at home, I knew this session was going to be pure magic.

Unposed, raw, and beautifully real.

The Cauldwells live on a sprawling property in Northern NSW, where life moves to the rhythm of their little family. The doors and windows were wide open, letting the outside world in—sunlight spilling across the wooden floors, the sounds of laughter (tween fights! ha) and bare feet pattering through the house. Their two dogs trailed behind us as we moved from room to room, capturing moments as they unfolded.

Life, As It Is

This wasn’t about perfect outfits or orchestrated poses—it was about capturing a family in motion. The girls ran freely, giggling as they sprayed each other with the garden hose. Harry jumped in the pool with them & Jayde took a quiet moment with her book. The beauty of this session lay in its honesty—no forced smiles, just genuine connection.

Jayde’s words after receiving her gallery were the kind that remind me why I do this work:

“I am speechless. I am writing to you with tears in my eyes because I am overwhelmed with joy viewing what you have captured of our family. Half of these I had no idea you were even taking, which has captured our reality so beautifully. I think as a mother, seeing your life at a different angle makes you see things in such a wholesome way, and I can’t thank you enough for what you have given us. Now to pick what to share!!!”

These words mean everything. To give a family a glimpse of their own love story from the outside—that’s what in-home family photography is all about.
